A few months ago, we set out to assess Americans’ knowledge of, and attitudes toward, Ruism. To achieve this, we conducted a survey of 379 adults living in the United States. We’ll be sharing the results in the coming weeks.
We asked: “On a scale of 1 to 5, how familiar are you with Confucianism?”
n | % | |
1 (Not at all familiar) | 59 | 15.1 |
2 | 139 | 35.5 |
3 | 85 | 21.7 |
4 | 85 | 21.7 |
5 (Very familiar) | 24 | 6.3 |

Only about 6% of respondents said they were very familiar with Confucianism.
